We’re delighted to announce that in a blind taste test by 20 leading industry experts, we have been awarded GOLD for our Scottish Raspberry Gin, in the Fruit Flavoured Gin of the Year category at the 2019 Scottish Gin Awards.
The Scottish Gin Awards is an independent awards programme, celebrating innovation and excellence in Scottish gin distilling, where we competed against 65 other Scottish gin brands and 100 Scottish gins which were judged entirely on their taste profiles.
Expertly handcrafted with Perthshire raspberries at our distillery in the Scottish Highlands, we use Scotland’s unique natural resources to infuse our gin to perfection using the world’s only working Copper Berry Chamber.
Caorunn Scottish Raspberry combines the invigorating dry, crisp taste of Caorunn enhanced by a natural raspberry sweetness and is best served with Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water, built over ice and garnished with fresh raspberries and red apple slices.
2019 marks our 10-year-anniversary, and the gold award pays a timely homage to our Scottish roots and the careful attention-to-detail that goes into the creation of Caorunn – handcrafted by our Gin Master, Simon Buley.
Simon says, “It’s a huge honour to pick up the gold award for our Scottish Raspberry Gin at this year’s Scottish Gin Awards – particularly as we celebrate 10-years of proudly handcrafting Caorunn Gin. Every small-batch of Caorunn we make is created with pride, passion and attention-to-detail to produce an invigorating, fresh, full-bodied and unique product that gin-lovers can enjoy for many more years to come.”
In this year’s Scottish Gin Awards, all four of our gins were shortlisted across three different awards categories including: Caorunn Scottish Raspberry for ‘Fruit Flavoured Gin of the Year’, Caorunn Highland Strength for ‘High Strength Gin of the Year’, Caorunn Gin and Gin Master’s Cut for ‘London Dry Gin of the Year’ and Balmenach Distillery for ‘Scottish Gin Destination of the Year’.
Now, all that’s left to do is raise a toast to 10 years of Caorunn and our latest award win!
