We’re celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary by launching an international cocktail competition, the 10 Year Switch.
As the world’s first and only gin to be handcrafted with locally foraged botanicals in a Scottish whisky distillery using a Copper Berry Chamber, we have today launched an international cocktail competition, the 10 Year Switch, to celebrate our 10-year anniversary.
The competition, open for entry online today (18 March) gives bartenders across the United Kingdom and the United States, a once in a lifetime opportunity to build their personal profile on an international platform by showcasing their cocktail creativity to the world. Based in the UK? You’ll be able to find out more and enter here via www.caorunn10years.com and if you’re in the US visit www.caorunn.liquor.com.
Our judging panel features some of the most well-known personalities in the bartending community including Ryan Chetiyawardana, Paloma Alos, Gaz Regan and not to mention our Gin Master Simon Buley.
Ryan Chetiyawardana (also known as ‘My Lyan’), Founder of Dandelyan and Cub, and one of the world’s most influential bartenders, has been named as Head Judge of the 10 Year Switch and is set to judge our international final in New York City on 31 July, 2019 – our official 10-year anniversary.
Paloma Alos, Managing Director of Difford’s Guide, one of the world’s largest and most visited drinks guides, is set to judge the five key regional finals in the UK alongside Caorunn Gin Master, Simon Buley.
Always at the forefront of creativity and innovation in the cocktail industry, Ryan is delighted to be a part of the 10 Year Switch. He says: “I first came across Caorunn whilst I was working in Edinburgh and it’s always been a product that’s really excited me. I was extremely proud to be a part of their official launch 10-years ago and so it’s fantastic to now be a part of this celebration, recognising the brand’s success and appreciating what it's done for the cocktail community.”
Ryan continues: “I’m really excited to see the winners over in New York where I’ll be heading up the judging panel with my dear friend and acclaimed cocktail author, Gaz Regan and Gin Master, Simon Buley from Caorunn.”
One overall winner will be selected from each country, and will both be awarded the honour of seeing their 10 Year Switch cocktail named as Caorunn’s signature serve in their respective countries. Both winners will receive a once in a lifetime opportunity to switch countries, working in one of the coolest bars in NYC and London and the chance to experience American and British culture at their finest. Will you be one of our two international winners?
