Gin Orange and Lime Chocolate Truffles Recipe

There is just something so satisfying about a good quality, home-made chocolate truffle. The way it starts of crisp but then melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more, and this simple recipe is one not to be missed.

The floral taste and subtle punch of Caorunn gets an uplifting pairing in these Orange and Lime Gin truffles - ideal for a late afternoon treat or just as another excuse to eat more chocolate and to use up any leftover Easter chocolate (if you have any left!), so what are you waiting for - check out my recipe below:

Ingredients

100g Elizabeth Shaw Orange Crisp Chocolates.
2 tbsp Double Cream
2 tbsp Caorunn Gin
Zest and Juice of ½ Lime
50g Unsalted Butter
Grated Chocolate to roll- or cocoa powder to dust

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate and the cream over a bain-marie of simmering water.
  2. Pour in Caorunn, Lime zest and juice and butter and whisk until the ingredients are smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Place in a bowl and cover- place in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Once chilled, scoop and roll into balls and place on a tray and chill for another hour.
  5. Coat your truffles in grated chocolate or cocoa powder and ENJOY.
