Bitter Citrus

This refreshing aperitif style cocktail produces fresh, citrus and bitter-sweet notes.

The ingredients complement Caorunn Blood Orange in a way that allows it to shine through while contributing to a well balanced and palate enticing flavour profile.

Ingredients

  • 35ml Caorunn Blood Orange
  • 25ml Campari
  • 25ml Lillet Blanc
  • 15ml Fresh Lemon juice
  • 15ml Sugar Syrup
  • 1 Whole Egg White or 15-20ml Aquafaba

Glass

Stemmed Glass of your choice

Method

  1. Place Egg white and lemon juice inside a cocktail shaker and shake well without ice.
  2. Once frothy, place the rest of the ingredients inside your shaker and top with ice and shake well.
  3. Finally, Double Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a slice of dehydrated blood orange.

Genius Tip

Orange Garnish

To create a dehydrated blood orange slice for a garnish, heat your oven to 140C and line a baking tray with baking parchment. Slice your oranges as thinly as you can, arrange them in one layer on the tray and bake for 45 minutes - 1 hour, turning half way through. If your strapped for time, a fresh orange or blood orange slice will also perfectly compliment the Bitter Citrus.
