Is Gin just for summer?

Gin’s refreshing crisp taste is usually associated with the summer months.  So, as the dark winter nights draw in you may think that the “Gin Season” is long gone, however here at Caorunn we believe you’re mistaken… gin’s aromatic, gentle heat means you shouldn’t overlook Caorunn this winter.  

Gin can be served in a variety of ways, as you may well know, from neat or G&Ts to cocktails aplenty. In fact, there’s a gin infused drink for all taste buds - so whether summer, winter or anything in between gin is not just for summer and should most certainly should remain proudly in your drinks cabinet all year round, wouldn’t you agree?

Winter cocktails and gin punches galore it’s time to let the festive fun beGIN! 

With the festive season is in full swing and Christmas just over a week away we’ve gathered a few of our favourite must-enjoy recipes to secure gin’s place in your cocktail repertoire this festive break, all that remains now is for you to mix, muddle and shake up your favourites…

Festive Caorunn Bijou

Gin Winter Warmer Caorunn


  • 37.5ml Caorunn
  • 22.5ml Mulled wine
  • 10ml Port
  • 10ml Green Chartreuse


Stirred and strained into a 6oz coupette 


A of slice red apple.


Caorunn Tea Punch

Gin Tea Punch Caorunn


  • 50ml Freshly squeezed white grapefruit juice 
  • 50ml Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 50ml Ginger syrup
  • 150ml Caorunn
  • 200ml Green cardamom and cinnamon infused black tea


Add all ingredients to a punch bowl and fill with ice.  

For the tea: brew a strong mug of tea, add 6-8 green cardamom pods and two cinnamon sticks.  Leave to cool and strain into punch bowl (diluted and sweetened to taste).


Star anise, slices of red apple and some pink peppercorns. 


Caorunn Mulled Cider 

Caorunn Gin Winter Punch


  • 150ml Caorunn
  • 50ml Honey syrup
  • 250ml Mulled cider
  • 100ml Hot water


Heat cider on low heat in pan with cinnamon, cloves, star anise and nutmeg.  Leave to cool and strain into punch bowl. Top with 100ml hot water, Caorunn and honey syrup and stir.


Apple slices, juniper berries and cinnamon sticks.
