Storytellers

Caorunn Storytellers Competition is now accepting submissions for Scotland!

Caorunn is on a worldwide search for Storytellers; if you live in Scotland enter now for the chance to compete in our national final. The Scottish judges, in association with the Scottish Society for Professional Bartenders, invite you to inspire us with your unique take on Caorunn and entertain us with your world-class bartending skills and storytelling talent.

Create a “Modern Classic.”

  • We’re looking for an original drink, with its roots in the true ‘classic’ cocktails
  • One which draws inspiration from one or more of Caorunn’s five Celtic botanicals – Rowan Berry, Coul Blush Apple, Heather, Dandelion and Bog Myrtle.
  • Innovation, style, knowledge and a well-constructed narrative are essential.

A true Caorunn storyteller will make a fantastic drink with style and substance, whilst embodying the character of the bartender as entertainer, raconteur, historian, joker and friend.

The Prize

A Trip to Scotland to compete in the Global Final featuring a tour of Speyside and the Balmenach Distillery.

Judging

Upload a picture of your drink and, if possible, a video of you creating and presenting it. Feel free to be creative as this is a great chance for our judges to get a feel for your personality. Bartenders will be judged on concept, story, presentation and product knowledge. Drinks will be marked on taste, nose, balance and garnish.

Entries will be accepted from March 16th to June 6th 2012. Our judges will then select the very best, who will be invited to the national final at The Finnieston in Glasgow on July 9th. Finalists, who must be able to attend on that date, will be notified by telephone and/or email using the information provided on their entry.

The 10 finalists, competing at the Scottish final, will have to present their drink and story to our judging panel of industry experts and drinks press. This year the panel will comprise of;
Martin Duffy (SSPB, Scottish Society of Professional Bartenders)
Ervin Trykowski (Caorunn Brand Ambassador)
Mal Spence (Blythswood Square Hotel)
Susie Cormack (i-On Magazine)

This competition is now closed.
