From the old Gaelic word Caorunn or Rhuda-an, pronounced 'ka-roon'. This piquant red berry has inspired Celtic medicines and recipes for generations. It forms the very soul of our gin. The six traditional and five Celtic botanicals are infused to perfection using only natural ingredients.
The wheel of five Celtic botanicals and the Caorunn Asterisk are embossed in the natural wood material. The use of time-honoured Celtic botanicals, traditional gin plant and handcrafting process reflects our desire to revive traditional influences.
Steidhitche the Gaelic word for established, recalls the Scottish heritage of Caorunn. Caorunn is handcrafted by our Gin Master using pure grain spirit, Scottish Water infused with eleven hand-picked botanicals in our unique Copper Berry Chamber at a working malt whisky distillery at Balmenach in the Speyside region of the Scottish Highlands.
There’s a subtle hint towards Celtic art and Celtic knots. The five Celtic botanicals are represented including the fabled Rowan Berry, which forms the very soul of our Scottish Gin. Caorunn, pronounced ‘ka –roon’, is the Gaelic word for Rowan Berry that has inspired Celtic medicines and recipes for generations.
Caorunn is a handcrafted, small batch distilled gin controlled by our Gin Master, Simon Buley. We use pure grain spirit, not molasses like most gins, to ensure high quality. Our Gin MASTER oversees every step of the distillation process to create the perfect Scottish Gin.
Caorunn has a uniquely shaped bottle. Its distinctive five sides give instant recognition and are representative of the five Celtic botanicals. By infusing the five Celtic botanicals in our unique Copper Berry Chamber we harness Scotland’s unique natural resources and age old botanicals.
